All Sail Med yachts and those that we represent are meticulously maintained to ensure your comfort and safety. As such, we do ask guests to observe a few simple rules on board:

  • No outdoor shoes on deck. To help protect the decks we ask that no onshore shoes be worn onboard. Please walk barefoot or wear a pair of soft-bottomed deck shoes.
  • Use sporting equipment responsibly. If you opt to hire water sports equipment please use it responsibly and respect other yachts, guests and the environment.
  • No overly loud, drunken or rowdy behavior. Please respect yourself, other guests and those on neighbouring boats by conducting yourself responsibly. Consider the safety of yourself and others and keep in mind that swimming and sailing under the influence is dangerous and can lead to accidents.
  • Don’t leave a footprint. Turkey boasts one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world – let’s keep it that way. Don’t throw rubbish overboard, recycle, empty bins responsibly and keep the use of plastic to a minimum.

Pack luggage wisely. Although there is storage on board, space is limited so please pack lightly and bring soft luggage rather than hard bulky cases. Swimwear, light clothing, a fleece or light jacket for cool evenings, and comfortable shoes for on-shore are the basics guests need. Storage for larger cases and valuables is available at our offices in Ece Saray Marina if required.

Yes. Hand, bath and beach towels for each guest are provided.

Celebrating at sea or on the quayside is a great idea and the Sail Med team are happy to help plan the occasion. Birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, corporate events and weddings can all easily be arranged. Let us know what you are thinking and we will take care of the details.

Yes. Every guest needs to keep their passport with them on-board and on-shore at all times.

Yes. Please organise adequate medical and travel insurance prior to arrival.

Yes. If you are not confident in taking the helm yourself, a Skipper or Sail Hand can be arranged to allow you to simply relax and enjoy your holiday. Please note, the Skipper will normally need to occupy one of the cabins onboard. Contact us for details.

Traditionally yacht charters are for a minimum of one week and most of our bookings are for a 7, 10 or 14-night duration. However, unlike many yacht charter companies in Turkey, Sail Med are flexible and have no pre-set dates or durations – contact us and we will happily accommodate your booking providing we have availability.

Sail Med’s season runs from April to November, although yachts can be arranged off-season on request. April, May, September and October are good months to visit boasting warm sunny days (c20-25 degrees C) and cooler evenings. June, July and August are high season in Turkey and the hottest months with temperatures averaging 32-35 degrees C.

Cruising to the Dodecanese islands, Rhodes and Kos is possible on our Skippered yachts and catamaran providing conditions are right and guests are prepared to enjoy longer cruising times and pay the additional costs required. Our team does, however, advise bareboat monohull charters to remain along the Turkish coast unless the Captain is experienced and prepared to endure longer and often more challenging cruises across to Greek waters.  Please ask us for details and possible itineraries.

If you are unsure which is the right yacht to charter, please Contact Us. The Sail Med team are happy to help guide you through the entire booking process. Let us know your sailing experience, plans, possible arrival dates and budget and we can help find the perfect yacht to suit your needs.

On arrival at our Ece Saray offices in Fethiye you will receive a full briefing from our staff. This will include:

  • An overview of the area, the water, possible itineraries and expected sailing conditions for your trips duration
  • A safety inspection of the yacht including a rundown on the safety and navigation equipment, VHF radio and mayday instructions
  • Full instructions on use of all instruments and equipment including GPS, winches, reefing lines, rigging, the anchor system, engine and controls
  • Info on check-in procedures, charts and pilot books
  • Instructions on use of the cooking, refrigeration, heads and showers onboard
  • Receipt of emergency contact information and the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Our luxury skippered catamaran is available on a daily, weekly and ad-hoc basis with itineraries and inclusions tailored to the guests. But, as a rough guide, the following normally applies:

Safety is a No.1 priority and the Turkish authorities require yachts sailing in Turkey to have a skipper and all skippers to hold an approved license. An RYA Day or Coastal Skipper qualification, or ICC qualification will normally suffice. Although our monohulls are relatively easy to sail, we usually ask that all skippers have experience in sailing yachts of a similar size and ideally a crew member or guest some sailing knowledge to assist with anchoring, maneuvering and other nuances of chartering a yacht. If you are lacking the confidence or ability, please contact us and consider hiring a skipper.

Few experiences can beat sitting on the deck of a yacht exploring Turkey’s enchanting coastline. A luxury yacht charter in Turkey promises far more than your average vacation and is a true adventure – no two days ever the same. A sailing holiday with Sail Med is tailored to you. It’s an indulgent holiday and an adventure quite like no other leaving you and your guests memories that will last a lifetime.
